PIJIP LLM Student Lukas Gon莽alves has written a post for the Computer & Communications Industry Association's Project Disco Blog on Canada's Bill C-18, the Online News Act. The legislation would require online news aggregators to enter into licensing agreements with news companies in order to display snippets, titles or links to their content. Gon莽alves concludes that "this is a flawed law that, if passed , would greatly impair digital services and limit the ability of the general public in Canada to share news content on the Internet."
