Bio
Cecilia Kim is a video artist and educator living and working in °ÄÃŻʹÚÌåÓý D.C. Born in South Korea, Kim has also lived in Australia, England, and Singapore. She received her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and BFA from the °ÄÃŻʹÚof the Art Institute of Chicago.
Kim was awarded The 19th Trawick Prize: Bethesda Contemporary Art Awards. Her work has been shown in solo and group shows including Hamiltonian Gallery (°ÄÃŻʹÚÌåÓý D.C.), The Immigrant Artist Biennial (NYC/virtual), 6th Louisiana Biennial (Ruston, LA), 0 GALLERY (Seoul, Korea), Target Gallery (Alexandria, VA), The Anderson Gallery (Richmond, VA), Hume Gallery (Chicago, IL); and film festivals including YouFilmFest at the Kennedy Center and NoFlash Video Show. Kim has been a resident artist at Ox-Bow °ÄÃŻʹÚof Art and Artists’ Residency, Corsicana Artist and Writer Residency, VisArts Bresler Residency, and Busan International OpenArts Residence. She is currently a 2021-23 Hamiltonian Artists Fellow.
